Rules & Regulations
General :
Playing hours will mean such hours of play as are fixed by the Committee from time to time; Club hours will mean such hours of the day and night as are fixed by the Committee from time to time for the Club Pavilion to remain open daily for use by members and their eligible guests ; Guests will mean any person above 18 years other than a member of the Club who may be brought in and introduced to the Club by any member of the Club. The term will not include casual visitors or spectators. Playing Guests will mean a person invited on any day to play tennis on any general playing day. Ladies Section will mean playing facilities exclusively reserved for the ladies eligible for playing tennis in the Club. Wives of members shall be deemed as associates of the Club and will be entitled to enjoy all the privileges as will be determined by the Committee from time to time.
Playing days and hours : Subject to the authority of the Committee to close any or all playing courts in the interest of the Club, the courts will be open to playing members for play on all Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays as the Committee may from time to time announce by a Notice on the Notice Board of the Club. The hours will be decided by the Committee. The Committee has discretion at all times to declare the courts unfit for play at any hour if damage is likely to result from such play. Members' play on clay and hard courts will be stopped after opening of the lawns. General play however will be allowed on clay and hard courts when the lawns are found to be unplayable owing to wet weather or for any other reasons except on courts previously booked. Players will never monopolise a court. After a set is completed the players taking part shall, in the event of other players waiting to play, immediately vacate the court. "Singles" once commenced may be finished and a fresh "Singles" shall not be commenced if another pair is willing to join in. When there are players waiting to play, a set shall not be continued after 11 games have been played.
Student members : Student members are entitled to all playing facilities enjoyed by playing members. They shall enjoy such other facilities as may be determined by the Committee from time to time. Playing hours are restricted to two hours. They can however play after the scheduled time if courts are available. They are to take prior consent of any committee member present.
Prohibition for bringing outside eatables: Members will not bring food from outside for consumption in the Club premises.
Catering food etc : Members can obtain breakfast, lunch, dinner ,food, beverages for themselves and for their guests from the Club. For arranging large parties members will be required to give at least 3 days advance notice but the Committee reserves the right of refusal if such party or parties cannot be arranged. Kitchen timings are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The order for Food and Snack will take at least 30 minutes to execute. If any parties are to be conducted comprising of 100 members or so, at least 7 days advance Order is to be placed to the Kitchen In-Charge. If any parties to be conducted comprising of 20- 25 members or so, 3 days advance Order is to be placed to the Kitchen In-Charge.
Booking for Parties : For arranging large parties, members are be required to give at least 3 days advance notice through an application addressed to the Honorary Secretary. The Committee at its sole discretion will inform the member through a letter regarding granting permission but the Committee reserves the right of refusal if such party or parties cannot be arranged. The charges will be decided by the Executive Committee of the Club on discussion with the concerned member .
Reservation of Dining Room & Lounge : Members can book the Dining Room and Lounge for the purpose of party for 10 to 20 people in the Lounge and 15 to 30 people in the Dining Room. The booking rates are Rs.3000/- (Rs.700/- for booking and Rs.2300/- refundable security deposit) for the Lounge and Rs1500/- for Dining Room for 3 hours. Lounge can be opened to Members on request from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. No A C service will be available during this period. Members willing to use the A C service during 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Lounge will be required to sign for the A C charges @ Rs.25/- per hour. The charges can be shared by the Members (if more than one Member) are using the Lounge. Members can use the Lounge from 7 p.m. onwards provided they are accompanied by their Family Members or a Lady Guest. The A C service will be available to the Members free of charge during 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dress rule will be applicable in the Lounge as per the Dress code of the Club. However, Members and their Guest are requested not to enter the Lounge wearing Tennis Gear.
Club Ties, T-Shirts etc.: Club ties, T Shirts, Car Stickers etc. shall be supplied by the Club as and when possible at reasonable price and they will be used only by the members of the Club.
Telephone : Members using the telephone will be charged at the rate to be fixed by the Committee from time to time.
Loss or damage to Club property : Any loss or damage to Club property caused by a member or his guest shall be charged for.
Club Pavilion : Subject to the control of the Committee the Club, Pavilion will be open to Members and their guests from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
Complaints : Members can enter any complaints in the "Complaint Book" or can submit their complaint direct to the Honorary Secretary in writing. The Honorary Secretary in the first instance shall investigate a complaint and take the necessary measure to redress the same. If the Honorary Secretary considers the Complaint is of a nature to warrant it being brought to the notice of the Committee he shall immediately do so. In the event of a Member not being satisfied with the steps taken by the Honorary Secretary to redress his complaints, he shall be at liberty to put his complaint before the Committee in writing.
Suggestions: Members are requested to note in the "Suggestion Book" suggestion which they consider beneficial to the Club.
Servants of the Club : Members are not to tip servants of the Club. They should immediately report any incivility or other cause of complaint in respect of servants in the same manner as provided herein before for other complaints. Members shall never strike/abuse the servants of the Club.
